Q1: What custom sapphire optical products can you produce?
A1: We cover two core categories: custom sapphire lenses (spherical, aspheric, cylindrical, ball/half-ball lenses with personalized curvature) and all special-shaped machined sapphire optics, including drilled sapphire blanks, stepped plates, slotted substrates, irregular outlines, sapphire domes, rods, tubes and custom-angle prisms. All geometry follows customer CAD drawings.
Q2: Can you drill micro holes on sapphire optics? What’s the precision?
A2: Yes, we provide ultrasonic diamond drilling and laser micro-drilling service for sapphire. Minimum hole diameter reaches 0.2mm, hole position tolerance ±0.05mm. We add edge chamfer polishing to avoid cracking around holes during assembly.
Q3: Can you customize sapphire lenses with target wavelength AR coating?
A3: Absolutely. We design dual-side anti-reflection coatings matching your operating band (UV/VIS/NIR/MWIR), which optimizes the sapphire transmission curve and raises peak transmittance over 98%. Uncoated, single-side AR and hard DLC protective coatings are also available.
Q4: Will you provide sapphire transmission curve test data for custom orders?
A4: Every batch of custom sapphire optics is accompanied by official spectral testing reports containing complete wavelength-transmittance curve data, supporting system calibration and project certification for aerospace, medical and laser industries.
Q5: Which crystal cut do you use for custom sapphire lenses & drilled parts?
A5: Standard stock adopts C-plane (Z-cut) sapphire to minimize birefringence for most optical systems. A-cut, M-cut and R-cut sapphire blanks can be customized for polarization-specific optical designs.
