A fused silica dome is a high-purity SiO₂ concentric spherical optical dome fabricated from bubble-free synthetic fused silica, available in JGS1, JGS2 and JGS3 grades. Compared with BK7 and borosilicate domes, it provides stable broadband light transmission ranging from deep UV to near-infrared wavelengths, featuring an ultra-low thermal expansion coefficient. Thanks to its excellent optical stability and environmental adaptability, fused silica domes are widely used for civilian optical systems that require continuous UV transmission, reliable performance under drastic temperature changes, and strong corrosion resistance.
