  • Aluminum mirrors have the characteristics of flat curves, wide wavelength range, high reflectivity, and low cost and the reflectivity is less affected by changes in wavelength and incidence angle. Plating SiO2 protective layer on the outer layer of the aluminum coating can greatly protect the strength of the aluminum coating, making it suitable for long-term use in industry and laboratories.

Protected & Enhanced Aluminum Mirror Coatings

Our protected aluminum mirrors feature an aluminum reflective layer covered by a half-wave overcoat of silicon monoxide or silicon dioxide. Select the proper coating according to your working wavelength and thermal requirements. This top layer protects the soft aluminum film from scratches and oxidation. Please avoid direct contact or cleaning on the mirror surface. Cost-efficient for visible light applications, this coating delivers an average reflectance above 85% across 400–700 nm and over 90% across 400–2000 nm. Its excellent broadband performance fits a wide range of optical applications.

Our enhanced aluminum mirrors adopt a durable dielectric top layer to protect the aluminum substrate. Custom tuning is available to maximize reflectivity for UV or visible light scenarios. Optimized for UV and deep UV use, these mirrors maintain Ravg >90% 250~450nm and Ravg >85% 250 ~700nm.
