  • Calcium fluoride (CaF2) has excellent transmittance between 250nm and 7um, making them widely used in products such as spectroscopic prisms, windows and lenses, it has good transmittance in ultraviolet, visible, and infrared band, and are widely used in technology fields such as lasers, infrared optics, ultraviolet optics, and high energy detectors. 

     

    CaF2 Classification

    Calcium fluoride covers the wavelength range of ultraviolet spectrum, visible spectrum, near-infrared to far-infrared light (180nm-10μm) .

    CaF2 material can be divided into polycrystalline and monocystalline CaF2, there is not much difference between the two in protective window and ordinary infrared imaging applications, but in terms of high-quality imaging and lasers, monocystalline CaF2 are mostly used. The direction of monocystalline CaF2 is 《111》, which can also be oriented according to customer requirements, but it will increase material loss and affect the price;

    CaF2 can be divided into ultraviolet CaF2 and infrared CaF2 according to the using band. In terms of application, ultraviolet materials only have better transmittance in the ultraviolet band (190-350nm), and there is no significant difference between other bands and infrared band. However, due to their high requirements for stress birefringence and fluorescence of the material, the purity of the raw material has also been correspondingly improved, and the price has also significantly increased.
